Head of Department - Dr. O. JAMES
Dr. Olutayo JAMES is an Associate Professor and Acting Head of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. He was born on the 29th May, 1968. He hails from Yagba East Local Government Area of Kogi State. He graduates from University of Ibadan in 1995 with Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1995. He did his residency training at the Department Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Lagos and obtained the fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College Nigeria in Dental Surgery (FMCDS) in December 2007. He is a seasoned researcher having co-authored and published over 80 (eighty) articles in both local and international peer reviewed journals.
He also obtained Master’s degree in Medical Imaging at the Katholieke University Leuven, Belgium in 2008 and Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the National Postgraduate Medical College. He is Happily married with children

To produce competent dental surgeons who will provide dento-alveolar surgery services at the primary, secondary and tertiary levels of health care delivery 1 Nigeria and other parts of the world.
To produce dental surgeons who will provide leadership for the Dental team in dento-alveolar surgery.
To produce dental surgeons who will be capable of completing specialist training and research in oral and maxillofacial surgery anywhere in the world.
To produce dental surgeons who will engage in life-long learning in oral surgery.
To produce dental graduate who will be leaders of the dental profession nationally and internationally.
