Prof. Utomi, Professor of Orthodontics, in the Department of Child Dental Health. She attended the Federal Government Girls’ Secondary School, Kazure, Jigawa State. She graduated from the University of Lagos in 1984 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree (BDS).

She was awarded the Fellowship of the West African College of Surgeons in 1999 and started her career as Lecturer I in 1999 in the University of Lagos. She rose through the ranks and was promoted to position of Professor of Orthodontics in 2018. She has been involved in training of undergraduate and postgraduate dental students.

She is an avid researcher and presently has 60 publications in several notable peer reviewed journals. She is a Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontic, Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Medicine (named), Doctor of Medicine degree in 2023 of the National Postgraduate Medical College.
